Integrated Education
At Fort Hill Integrated Primary School, we are proud to be part of the integrated education movement in Northern Ireland. Integrated education brings together children, staff, and families from Catholic and Protestant traditions, alongside those of other faiths, cultures, and backgrounds, to learn and grow together every day in a shared school environment.
Since its beginnings in 1981, integrated education has played a vital role in helping to build a more inclusive and peaceful society by promoting mutual respect, understanding, and friendship amongst all communities. While rooted in a Christian ethos, integrated schools actively celebrate and respect the beliefs and identities of everyone in the school community.
At Fort Hill, we believe that educating children together from diverse backgrounds not only enhances learning but also helps to shape open-minded, compassionate, and responsible citizens. Our school is proud to reflect the rich diversity of the Lisburn area, and we are committed to empowering our pupils to think independently, respect others, and make a positive difference in the world around them.
