ASC 1

Welcome!

The adults in our room are Miss McIntyre, Mrs Dooley, Mrs Megahey and Mrs Glass.

As an Autistic Specific Classroom, we rely on routine and structured teaching to best meet the needs of our learners.

Each day has a similar structure:

  1. Morning Routine: organise our own belongings and change into comfy footwear
  2. Workstation: complete small literacy, numeracy and fine motor tasks independently
  3. Play-Based Learning: we all play together
  4. Attention Autism: games and activities designed to build attention
  5. Break: a quick snack and a chance to integrate with our year groups in the playground
  6. Sensory Circuits: some physical activity, organising games and relaxing to get ready for classwork
  7. Individual Classwork: P1-P4 are taught at their own pace, with individual tasks each day
  8. Lunch: we eat in the classroom and then join our year groups in the playground
  9. Topic Activity: this is time to learn about the World Around Us, Art, Drama and Music
