Nursery to P5 will also be using the SEESAW APP.
It is vitally important that all N-P5 parents register their SEESAW accounts using their codes that have been sent home.
I am absolutely delighted that you will be joining me
in Fort Hill Primary School P1 next year.
I look forward to seeing you on Monday 24th August 2020.
Below you will find some important information regarding the arrangements we have put in place for your child starting school.
As you are aware circumstances are very different this year and we missed out on our Induction Meetings and 'informal' meet and greet sessions with you and your child.
In order to allow for a smooth and settled introduction for your child to the formal education system, we have arranged for them to start school DAILY for a short session, and intend to build on this throughout the months of September/October.
Your child has been allocated a daily session which consists of 15 pupils and will, initially, last for 1 and a half hours.
*For Your Child's Session and some other important information PLEASE see attached documents at the bottom of this page.
Session 1 will run from 9.00am – 10.30am.
Session 2 will run from 12.00pm – 1.30pm.
On Monday 24th August you will attend an
Induction Meeting with your child’s P1 Teacher.
This meeting will take place when your child arrives to school:
Session 1 parents at 9am.
Session 2 parents at 12.00pm.
You will be directed to the meeting after dropping your child off to their P1 classroom.
Split Sessions always take place during the month of September. This provides a more 'relaxed' and 'tailored' approach for your child, which should help them settle in and integrate into the Primary One classroom more efficiently.
Small groups also provides valuable time for staff as it allows adults to get to know your child on a more personal level and carry out observations to help inform future planning and teaching in P1.
I will inform you in more detail during our INDUCTION SESSION, however, I hope this gives you an insight as to how we plan to operate the first few weeks in P1.
(These procedures will be in place regardless of any changes made by the EA regarding Covid 19).
On Monday 24th August PARENTS will attend an Induction Meeting with the CLASS TEACHER when you bring your child to school. As this is your child's first day you will collect them a little earlier when the meeting is finished (APPROX 1 HOUR).
I am looking forward to seeing you,
Mrs Debbie Wiggam.
